At the Institute of Botany we focus our research on the metabolism of plants. Here, both model systems and crop plants are investigated. Currently, three research groups are working in the fields of Sulphur metabolism and abiotic stress, Prof. Dr. Jutta Papenbrock, Plant physiology, Prof. Dr. Thomas Pfannschmidt and Biochemistry of secondary plant constituents, Prof. Dr. Jakob Franke.

Academic Exchange

Dr. Ariel Turcios from the Papenbrock working group presents the importance of academic exchange for internationalisation in a short video using his example from Guatemala. He came to Germany in 2013 for his doctorate and reports on his own experiences abroad and at the Institute of Botany. He also gives tips and advice for students and researchers interested in spending time abroad in Latin America.
