Learn botany online – free learning and teaching materials
“Join us on an excursion!” – Under this motto, our institute invites you to discover a diverse world of plants digitally. What began as a creative solution during the coronavirus pandemic is now being continuously expanded into an open educational resource (OER) that is freely accessible to everyone who is interested.
Currently, you can explore the flora of New Zealand and the halophytes of the Salinas del Bebedero. Discover new worlds and expand your botanical knowledge – from the comfort of your own home.
The virtual excursions take you through regional and international habitats and bring botanical contexts to life. Each excursion includes detailed instructions that provide orientation and guide you through the content. Our goal is to spark curiosity about the world of botany and deepen knowledge in a lasting way.
We want to infect you with our enthusiasm and take you on an expedition with our images, videos, and guided questions.
Good Practice – from teaching, for teaching
As part oft the "teach & tell" video series [only in German], Professor Dr. Jutta Papenbrock, who initiated the project, talks about her motivation and experiences and gives practical tips for implementing digital excursion formats.
